When workplace conflict or psychosocial risk escalates, you need calm, credible support early.
Resolution House Consulting helps organisations respond early to workplace conflict, team strain, and psychosocial risk before issues become bigger problems for people, safety, or operations. The focus is practical, independent support that helps leaders make sound decisions, reduce harm, and move forward with confidence.
I am Sue Batten, a Brisbane based AMDRAS accredited mediator and conflict coach with more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across small to medium organisations, including mental health, disability, community, and other people intensive settings
Before establishing Resolution House Consulting, I led teams and services in environments where people issues were rarely simple and where workplace conflict, team strain, distress, and complaint risk could quickly affect staff wellbeing, service quality, and organisational stability. That experience gave me a clear understanding of how much harm can occur when leaders are left to manage complex situations without the right support.
I founded Resolution House Consulting because I could see a clear gap in the market. Larger organisations often have access to specialist advice, structured people processes, and internal support, while many smaller organisations are left to work through difficult workplace issues on their own. I believe conflict is not something to ignore or contain until it becomes unmanageable. It is often an early sign that something needs attention in the way people are working, leading, or responding, and it should be handled with care, clarity, and sound judgement.
My Approach
My approach is calm, practical, and grounded in both experience and academic training. I work with organisations to make sense of complex situations, choose an appropriate response, and take clear next steps that reduce harm and support safer, more effective workplaces. Through Resolution House Consulting, I bring together workplace conflict resolution, psychosocial risk insight, leadership support, and structured facilitation to help organisations respond earlier, act more confidently, and move forward with greater clarity.
Independent by design
Every engagement is led without internal bias or organisational pressure. That independence is what makes the process credible to everyone involved.
Early action, better outcomes
Most workplace situations are easier to resolve before they formalise. The goal is always to identify the right response early, while options are still open.

20+ years across people-intensive organisations
My background spans over 20 years in senior leadership roles across small to medium organisations, where people issues, operational pressures, and workforce complexity often intersect. I have worked extensively in mental health, disability, community, and other people intensive settings, including regional and remote Queensland, and understand the realities leaders face when support structures are limited. I have led teams, managed complex services, and worked alongside organisations navigating conflict, complaint risk, workforce strain, and difficult leadership decisions. That experience shapes the practical, grounded way I support clients through Resolution House Consulting.
How I work
Resolution House Consulting is Brisbane based, supporting organisations across South East Queensland in person and Australia wide online.
Confidential
Confidentiality is taken seriously, with clear communication about process, boundaries, and the limits of confidentiality where relevant.
Independent
I work independently and, where required, impartially, so clients can have confidence in a fair and professional approach.
Clear Starting point
The usual starting point is a confidential 30 minute triage call, where we clarify what is happening, identify immediate priorities, and consider the most appropriate next step.
Calm
I bring a calm, steady approach to sensitive workplace issues, helping leaders and teams work through difficult situations without adding unnecessary heat, confusion, or escalation.
Tailored
Support is tailored to the situation. I do not apply a standard formula to complex workplace issues.
Practical
My focus is on practical guidance, sound process, and early action that reduces harm and supports safer workplace outcomes.
If you are navigating a workplace issue and want to talk it through with someone who understands, I would welcome the conversation. A confidential 30 minute triage call is a practical first step to clarify what is happening and consider whether and how I can help.
30 minutes. No cost. No obligation.
